SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor, a Master Operator will be responsible for ensuring that production team members are trained in the production of quality parts. Master Operators will assist the Team Leaders and Shift Supervisor ensuring that the department is maintained, performing hourly checks, and performing other production duties as required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Complete hourly check sheets, including gage checks.
  2. Perform production tasks as required
  3. Update production boards
  4. Supply production team with necessary supplies
  5. Complete LPA’s and other quality requirements
  6. Promote quality training of team members
  7. Effectively interact with supervisors and other departments
  8. Follow quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff
  9. Enforce and achieve all production rates.
  10. Maintain a Clean and organized work area
  11. Identify relevant training needs with Team Lead and Supervisor and deliver training
  12. Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Working knowledge of assigned areas
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Read and write English
  • Automotive manufacturing experience
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of customer procedures and expectations
  • Ability to successfully handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to take direction from Supervisors and Team Leads

Job Physical Requirements

Standing: Must be able to stand up to 10 hours a day with scheduled breaks.

Climbing: Must be able to climb stairs, ladder, or up onto a hi-lo

Bending or stooping: Must be able to bend, crouch, or stoop to move boxes, parts, or inventory.

Lifting: Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.

Hand and Finger: Picking, pinching, working with fingers and the whole hand or arm as in handling a part, pushing a button, or packing a part in a box for shipment.

Additional physical requirements: Manual dexterity sufficient to lift and carry boxes and to grasp the handle to use a hydraulic pallet jack.

Visual acuity sufficient to use a computer, to count and verify lot numbers and quantities of parts for shipping.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing facility environment. Inside office, plant and warehouse with and without temperature controls and wood coated and concrete floors.

Job duties may require frequent early morning, late evening, and weekend work times.
