JOB SUMMARY
The Adventure (Water Team) Boat Captain oversees the operation of a watercraft, ensuring safety of passengers and crew while navigating the waterways. The Boat Captain requires a combination of navigational skills, technical knowledge, leadership abilities, and a strong commitment to safety.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Boat Captain (including wake boats and other vessels)
- Jet-Ski operator
- Deckhand responsible for safety and equipment handling
- Guide and Instructor for guests, children, and specific client activities
- Water Safety personnel
- Lead water activities for children while ensuring safety
- Proficient in instructing various water sports for both adults and children, including but not limited to wakeboarding, SUP, paddling, foiling, etc. with both adults and kids
- Maintain, prepare, and manage various equipment for daily guest use
- Deliver a high-quality professional service while fostering a relaxed atmosphere for clients
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure proper equipment is in place to support activity requests
- Prepare, assemble and install adventure equipment as needed
- Perform routine (daily, weekly, monthly) maintenance on equipment, vessels and vehicles according to cleaning checklist
- Maintain integrity and organization of equipment, vessels, and vehicles pertaining to
cleaning checklists - Follow proper protocols for all equipment check out /check
- Responsible for on-going maintenance projects such as upkeeping lake equipment and
assembly of new equipment and/or hardware - Prepping, cleaning, assembling and breaking down all gear for equipment set-ups during
pre and post family visits. - Contribute to activity briefings and debriefings
- Maintain daily activity logs to record client requests, safety measures, equipment usage and vessel operation
- Ensure vessels are fueled and prepared for daily use
- Adhere to SOP's and Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) while actively participating in improving operational standards

- Flexible with travel dates and times
- Willing to adapt and utilize a diverse range of sills to ensure the best possible experience for the client
- Off visit responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Completing projects and tasks by set deadlines (I.e. assembling racks, organizing
gear storage, etc.) - Attending scheduled trainings and/ or professional development

JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Current and Valid Certificates:
- Boaters Ed. certifications for California
- Thrill crat certifications
- Lifeguard and ocean safety rescue certified
- CPR & Frist Aid Certified
- Captains License, preferred; must possess the appropriate skill sets to captain wake boats while towing passengers
- Responsible for maintaining up to date certifications and training certifications
- Attends continuing education for water safety training and/or CPR and first aid
- Possess great observation and safety preventative skills
- Confident in making solo rescues
- Confident and comfortable in ALL ocean/lake conditions
- Experienced and confident in providing water safety in high stress situations
- Experienced and comfortable working with children of all ages
- Has the ability to teach and instruct various experience levels pertaining to skill sets
- Possesses a positive, hard working, yet tactical approach in navigating various situations
- Exudes patience and flexibility in changing environments
- Remains calm and collected in stressful situations
- Confident in exercising assertiveness in a professional and respectful manner
- Team player and willing to be versatile
- Communicates well with others and is able to make quick efficient, yet smart decisions that ensure safety for everyone involved
- Possesses a heightened sense for hospitality and delivers exceptional customer service
- Connects well with both children and adults
- Approachable, calm and confident
- Prompt, reliable, and professional
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS
- Bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, squatting
- Working in cramped spaces
- Pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 lbs. and objects weighing in excess of 50 lbs. with assistance
- Working outdoors with or without wet, dusty or windy weather conditions
- Able to drive a side by side "Utility" vehicle (UTV)
- Able to drive a full-size work truck with trailer
- Periodic travel to other locations may be required
