Overview: The Financial Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Receipt Management:
- Collect, organize, and categorize receipts and financial documents.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of expenses in financial systems.
- Reconcile receipts with expense reports and maintain proper documentation.
- Payroll Assistance:
- Ensure payroll data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Collaborate with the Fiscal Director to resolve any discrepancies.
- Compile and analyze financial data to prepare reports for board meetings.
- Assist in developing financial reports and documentation for grant applications.
- Ensure reports are accurate, comprehensive, and delivered on time.
- Provide support to the Administrative Manager and Fiscal Director as needed.
- Handle confidential financial information with discretion.
- Perform general administrative duties related to financial operations.
- Assist with special financial projects as assigned.
- Continuously seek to improve processes and efficiency within the finance department.
- Stay updated with relevant financial regulations and best practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to utilize basic computer software (Office Suite, Google, HMIS, etc).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk up and down stairs.
- Ability to get up and down off from the floor, unassisted.
- Ability to stand for a combined total of more than 4 hours a day.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds, unassisted.
- Ability to assist in physical set-up activities (e.g., setting up and rearranging folding tables and chairs, etc.)
- Ability to perform activities while twisting and turning.
