Job Summary


The Applications Specialist - DC Power Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise to the project management team to assist in building quotations as well as to the services team to provide guidance and direction towards the successful execution of an installation project.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and/or create a Scope of Work (SOW) based on input from the customer, the sales team and other sources to ensure the information is accurate, realistic and understandable.
  • Revise and/or create facility drawings as required by the customer or internal organizations to reflect equipment placement, component installation, wiring and any other technical information that the customer requires or would be beneficial to field personnel.
  • Review and/or create a Method of Procedure (MOP) to be used by field personnel that provides the guidance, technical information and techniques that are required to successfully complete the project installation.
  • Review close-out package submittals for accuracy and completeness. This includes a review of pictures to verify quality and workmanship of field personnel.
  • Perform site surveys to assist the sales team in building SOW’s and/or to verify SOW’s prior to field personnel deployment.
  • Field phone calls to assist field personnel in troubleshooting any technical issues experienced at a jobsite during project installation.
  • Be a student of the industry – work with OEM’s and vendors on new technology in order to provide a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Key Performance Measurements:

  • Meet quote due dates consistently.
  • Meet specification and MOP due dates consistently.
  • Provide accurate documentation and information.
Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of DC Power installation and/or system design and high school diploma.
  • Must have 5-7 years of DC Power installations, including related Power Plant experience.
  • Deep knowledge of Telcordia standards; specifically, GR1275 and GR513.
  • Strong communication, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to organize his/her own work and work independently, with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with diverse needs, and across remote offices.
  • Ability to clearly articulate ideas (both written and verbal) to both internal and external customers and to listen effectively to customer needs.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong workplace relationships with an emphasis on customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments toward the greater good of the organization.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment.
  • Travel requirements - 10% to 20% within designated territory.
  • Must pass all required pre-employment requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Visio.
  • Highly independent with organized, strong work ethic and team mentality.
