The schedule is shifting rotation requiring availability for both twelve-hour day shifts and twelve-hour night shifts. Schedule is three-day shifts followed by three days off followed by three-night shifts.

The primary responsibilities of this position will be to guide, organize, and direct the hourly workforce in conjunction with supporting plant operations. This position will plan and schedule production and maintenance activities safely to exceed production goals while working towards controlling plant costs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct and adhere to all plant and corporate safety rules, procedures, guidelines, and regulations as applicable.
  • Reports all safety concerns or issues to managers.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Supervise and work with union hourly on specified shifts to ensure effective and efficient plant operation.
  • Oversees and trains with all departmental procedures, quality procedures, related work instructions, safety training and company policies.
  • Advises plant leadership and managers on personnel issues.
  • Manages time collection functions. This includes processing and/or submitting all forms on a timely basis.
  • Plan and schedule necessary downtime with production departments.
  • Communicate production issues to Management Team and identify areas for improvement.
  • Performs administrative duties required to meet job goals including planning, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Work to maintain a positive working relationship with the plant employees.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

BACKGROUND AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or combination of education and on-the-job experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work in a similar capacity, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Must work well with others including adapting to a variety of personalities.
  • Must be a logical thinker and possess good troubleshooting abilities.
  • Experience in managing others in a union environment preferred.
  • Management background preferred or equivalent background as operations supervisor in manufacturing or a similar field.
  • Excellent computer skills: Microsoft office, outlook, excel.
  • Ability to handle several tasks and bring projects and assignments to closure in a timely manner.

Salary info:

$28.85 - $34.62 / hr
