WHAT YOU’LL DO

Some might say it defies gravity As our Production Supervisor – 2nd Shift, you’ll lead the talented assembly and machining team who make our gravity-defying products and be responsible for meeting our production goals. You’ll drive continuous improvement throughout the production process, increase capacity, and improve operational effectiveness and efficiency. You’ll make an immediate impact on our manufacturing operations by:


  • Directing and coordinating the activities to plan, prepare, issue, and control production schedules
  • Overseeing the status of work in process, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are available as needed
  • Managing the priority and scheduling of equipment and personnel, the confirmation of material supply and demand, and the preparation of work orders, or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components
  • Identifying training needs and developing a training program to ensure standard work across all shifts
  • Leading and motivating a diverse workforce, empowering and investing in the team to increase skill sets, and fostering career development
  • Maintaining an adequate workforce to meet the needs of the production department including hiring, training, leading, mentoring, coaching, and terminating when necessary
  • Clearly communicating scopes of work, quality standards, and company expectations to all supervisors and direct labor staff, as well as proactively communicating problems and obstacles up to manufacturing management

MUST-HAVES

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience and a strong track record of achievement both in manufacturing throughput and people leadership
  • Experience working with key production metrics and industry-standard equipment
  • Be a results-driven problem solver, taking a well-ordered approach to tackling problems and making sound decisions despite obstacles, resistance, or ambiguity
  • Strong team building and people management skills
  • Self-motivated with minimal direction required for day-to-day operations
  • Have a start-up mentality and be energized at the idea of wearing multiple hats and holistically managing processes
  • Be professional, responsive, resourceful, flexible and well-organized
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate up and down the chain of command


NICE-TO-HAVES

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline
  • Prior theoretical and hands-on Assembly experience including but not limited to: interpreting prints, proper torque tooling use, use of measuring gauges/devices, hydraulic press experience, machining tolerance knowledge
  • Experience using NetSuite


MORE DETAILS YOU’LL WANT TO KNOW

  • You'll be based in our Leesport, PA facility, full-time
  • On-the-job training will be provided (we will help you become the Seakeeper expert)
  • You'll report to the Director of Manufacturing, also based in Leesport, PA
  • This position will train on 1st shift for 3 to 4 weeks working Monday - Thursday from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, then switch to 2nd shift permanently working Monday - Thursday from 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM
