Overview

The Marketing & Communications Manager will produce and coordinate the development of communications for the purpose of serving our members and staff through communicating and marketing of Club events, programs and services. This will involve working closely with all departments to produce Club communications that are high-quality, complete, accurate, attractive and timely for the Membership and/or staff. The Marketing & Communications Manager designs, creates and oversees the Club’s newsletters, website, signage, menus, calendars, brochures, emails, videos and more.


Responsibilities

Administrative

  • Maintains a working knowledge of Club policies and guidelines as outlined in the Hallbrook Country Club Employee Handbook and Club Rules
  • Provide leadership and oversight to the Marketing & Communications area.
  • Accountable for the planning responsibilities of the Marketing & Communications department, including calendars, deadlines, etc
  • Develops positive working relationships with members, guests, coworkers and vendors
  • Compiles financial forecast information and assists in development of Marketing & Communications budget on an annual basis
  • Monitors expenses for Marketing & Communications Department and plans purchases accordingly
  • Responsible for all training and on-going supervision Marketing & Communications department staff members

Operations

  • Consult Club leadership on marketing programs, events, and communications.
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze website and email content; update regularly to ensure information is timely and accurate.
  • Layout and design the Club’s printed or digitally prepared member and internal communications.
  • Work with department heads to prepare and post all website updates, e-blasts, surveys, and promotions of Club events.
  • Develop and maintain a tracking system to ensure timely communication about upcoming events.
  • Design event communication materials based on the event calendar, and assist with keeping the event calendar updated.
  • Ensure that Club branding is consistent across all mediums and team up with the Communications Manager to make certain all Club communications follow strict branding guidelines and adopt the Club’s consistent branding style.
  • Assist Digital Marketing Manager with social media content and management.
  • Host Marketing Meetings with department heads as needed.
  • Be visible during events to obtain content for the Club’s website, social media campaigns etc.
  • Collect pictures and videos from club events, spaces, menu items, etc. to use for internal and external communications.
  • Edit photos, videos, and other content to be uploaded to the Club gallery.
  • Assist with communications and marketing duties as needed.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Marketing and/or Communications or related field.
  • 5+ years’ Marketing and/or Communications experience
  • 5+ years’ graphic design experience
  • Proven leadership ability
  • Web design experience a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office, Adobe programs, such as Illustrator, InDesign, PremierPro, Lightroom, Acrobat, and/or similar programs
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with members and co-workers.
  • Excellent time-management skills
  • Detail oriented and have strong follow through
  • Ability to prioritize project deadlines among competing schedules is necessary
  • Solutions-oriented approach
  • Available to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends and evenings depending on schedule of events on occasion
  • Must have good communication skills and work well in a team setting and/or independently
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Must be organized, independent and must be able to multitask

Physical and Environmental Demands

  • Ability to be on feet for up to 50% of the prescribed shift
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds, able to stand, bend, stoop, twist and turn for prolonged periods of time.
  • The position will require working inside and outside various times of the year and may require prolonged exposure to sunlight.
