Job Title: Systems Engineer

Location: Laurel, MD

Type: Full-Time, Onsite


We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with an ACTIVE Full Scope Poly to join our direct client's infrastructure support team in Laurel, MD. This is an on-site position in a help desk environment. NetApp experience is essential.


The ideal candidate will exhibit excellent communication skills and be prepared to participate in a shared on-call rotation as needed.


Key Requirements:

  • MUST have an Active Full Scope Poly**
  • MUST work on-site in Laurel, MD**
  • MUST be able to work until 6:00 PM once a week**


Responsibilities:

  • Provide tier 2/3 technical support in a help desk environment
  • Manage and maintain NetApp storage systems and related infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot complex system and network issues
  • Implement and maintain system security measures
  • Perform system upgrades and patches as needed
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues
  • Participate in on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 system availability
  • Document technical processes and maintain system documentation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of IT operations and processes


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts
  • Strong expertise in NetApp storage systems and related technologies
  • IAT II certification
  • Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related professional engineering discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Familiarity with network protocols and infrastructure


Preferred Qualifications:

  • NetApp certified professional certifications
  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices
