Technology Services (ITS) and Administrative Telephone Services (ATS) on Picatinny Arsenal.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman VOIP Administrator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience with Voice over IP (VOIP) systems and will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of VOIP infrastructure. This role requires a solid understanding of telecommunications systems, including VOIP technology, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently. The position aligns with the DCWF 011 Telecommunications Technician II work role and requires DoD 8140 compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• VOIP System Administration:

  • Install, configure, and maintain VOIP systems and related telecommunications equipment.
  • Manage and monitor VOIP network performance, ensuring optimal system operation and uptime.
  • Perform regular updates, patches, and security configurations on VOIP systems.

• Technical Support:

  • Provide Tier II/III support for VOIP-related incidents and service requests.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve VOIP-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of VOIP systems with existing infrastructure.

• Security and Compliance:

  • Ensure VOIP systems comply with DoD 8140 requirements and cybersecurity standards.
  • Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and guidelines for VOIP systems.
  • Participate in audits and vulnerability assessments to ensure compliance with security protocols.

• Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of VOIP systems, configurations, and procedures.
  • Generate reports on system performance, issues, and resolutions as needed.

Qualifications:

• Education & Experience:

  • Associate's degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field. A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in VOIP administration or telecommunications.

• Certifications:

  • DoD 8140/8570 compliance with relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, etc.).
  • VOIP-specific certifications such as Cisco Collaboration, Avaya, or equivalent are highly desirable.

• Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of VOIP systems and protocols (e.g., SIP, RTP, H.323).
  • Experience with telecommunications systems, network architecture, and infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing VOIP hardware and software.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, especially in relation to telecommunications systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Clearance:

  • Must possess a current Secret Clearance.
