Controller

Our client, an established mid-sized manufacturing and distribution company, is looking for a hands-on controller to join their team. Along with effective communication skills, a candidate for this position needs a thorough understanding of accounting practices including GAAP and a business acumen allowing for professional growth.

How You Will Contribute

  • Manage and supervise the accounting department including AP, AR, Debt, GL, and process payroll.
  • Perform month-end and fiscal year-end closings.
  • Prepare and maintain a 12-week cash flow forecast.
  • Attend weekly meetings, provide project accounting and reporting.
  • Participate in the management of banking relationships including the LOC.
  • Prepare compliance reports, maintain knowledge of contracts, and perform research.

About You

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; CPA license or ability to obtain a CPA license within 12 months.
  • 3-4 years of related work experience including supervision
  • Knowledge of GAAP and other accounting concepts and experience in their application
  • Direct experience in manufacturing and cost/absorption accounting; experience in small lot production, high labor productions, and WIP Identification
  • Experience in applying fixed, semi-variable, and variable costs to manufacturing activity, preparing break even analysis, and absorption of conversion costs to inventory.
  • Understanding Lean Accounting, modern reporting tools and data modeling
  • Proficient with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred), MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)
  • Experience with S-Corporations entity structure and tax reporting, multiple entity consolidation, and foreign operations.
