Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAxios Professional Recruitment is partnered with a Tier 1 Automotive company in Lancaster, OH, who is actively looking to hire an Assistant Controller. The Assistant Controller performs functions to manage, organize, and analyze the organizations financial data and the Financial Control Systems.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintains ongoing evaluation of financial systems and procedures in compliance with generally accepted standards for financial control and corporate policies.
  • Complete, accurate and consistent accounting records.
  • Complete, accurate, timely, consistent, and relevant management information.
  • Favorable audit reports.
  • Continuous improvement in financial management strength within the Finance Function and among Operations Managers.
  • Efficient and effective financial planning processes.
  • Effective management of funds flow including; cash, accounts receivable and collections, and accounts payable and disbursements.
  • Ensures complete, accurate, timely, and consistent recording and summarization of financial control and corporate policies.
  • Develop and ensure the proper maintenance of control systems to safeguard assets and to effectively monitor operations.
  • Participates in weekly IT meetings with Controller and IT team.
  • Participate, adhere and develop operating procedures as part of the company’s ongoing implementation of ISO 14001/IATF 16949 activities.
  • Adheres to all MAFACT requirements
  • Abide by all AODA and C-TPAT procedures that apply to their position
  • Ensures all administrative duties are completed as required and that work is completed on time as scheduled, and is thorough, accurate and complete.
  • Conducts performance reviews informally or formally as required and ensures performance reviews are completed for all employees.
  • Builds and fosters teamwork within the department creating an environment where team members are respectful (people, property, equipment), work together, communicate effectively and lend a hand when/where required.
  • Attends departmental and plant-wide communication meetings as scheduled.
  • Complies with, supports and models operational procedures/policies, Employee Handbook, and Employee’s Charter, Corporate Constitution, and Operational Principles.
  • Complies with relevant Quality and Environmental programs (e.g. TS16949, ISO14001).
  • Complies with all Health and Safety programs in accordance with OSHA.
  • Follows and ensures Production Associates follow all Company procedures and regulations regarding safety.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • University degree or College Diploma in specialized occupational field (i.e. Business, Accounting).
  • Professional accounting designation (CMA, CGA or CA).
  • A minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in industrial accounting in the manufacturing sector. Experience in auto parts manufacturing is an asset.
  • Practical experience with computers and Microsoft Office.
  • Good math skills and the ability to analyze data.
  • Strong listening and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced environment and with a variable workload (flexible hours).
  • Ability to understand, anticipate and follow direction while exercising maturity of judgement.
  • Must be able to interact effectively with other team members.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, and use discretion and tact.
  • Physically capable of performing essential duties of the job.
