Pay Rate: $17.00/HOUR Shift: 1st ShiftSchedule: Monday to FridayHours: 8:00am to 4:30pm JOB SUMMARY The Testing Technician is responsible for testing specimens in accordance with FAA burn testing standards. This will be a hybrid position with time spent burning test specimens and the remaining time receiving materials. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES included, but not limited to:
  • Data entry for testing provided to clients and Project Coordinators.
  • Adhere to record retention procedures for files.
  • Calibrate and maintain burn testing equipment.
  • Analyze data collected during testing and calibration.
  • Perform basic trouble-shooting of testing equipment.
  • Provide support to other areas of the Flammability department as required.
  • Receive materials in and determine disposition of materials either as an existing project or new one.
  • Ensure preliminary test coupons are cut and placed into the conditioning room and matched to a specific file.
  • Ensure materials are bagged and tagged with all appropriate identification.
  • Effectively communicate with flammability staff about status of materials.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations, preferable
  • Strong attention to detail, mechanical and technical aptitude
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Requires the ability to lift 5 pounds regularly with occasional lifting to upwards of 20 pounds.
