Associate Manufacturing Engineer Technician

JOB SUMMARY: Assists and participates in the implementation of Associate Manufacturing Engineer Technician takes assignments under the direction of the Manager. Participates in all phases of I.E./M.E. programs to provide adequate and proper support to the manufacturing of simple to highly complex Electro-mechanical production. Provides technical guidance to others within and outside the manufacturing department on an as required basis.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze assembly prints, drawings, specifications and translate for production.
- Illustrate specialized techniques for production operations using sketches and outlines.
- Compare the quotation process to validate quote and manufacturing processes.
- Create special studies of methods and tooling to determine if the job is being performed in the most efficient and economical manner.
- Evaluate and recommend manufacturing process changes to production supervisors including expected increased efficiency and cost savings.
- Educate production personnel to ensure the correct use of tools and/or equipment as well as developing their proficiency.
- Collaborate with Engineering to evaluate product design from the manufacturing view point.
- Analyze and recommend design changes that will economically facilitate production.
- Work with QA and Manufacturing Engineering to evaluate, identify root cause and implement corrective actions for deficiencies identified by internal or external customers.
- Assess Engineering change notices to determine the most efficient way of introducing changes into the production process.
- Complete special assignments given by the Manufacturing Engineering Support Manager.
- Program and monitor equipment used for production.
- Identify equipment needs, accompanying ROI analysis.
- Educate and train area supervisors on new products.
- Create and implement work instructions to support ISO certification program.
- Other duties and/or special projects may be assigned as required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Associates engineering and 2 years’ experience in manufacturing preferred.
- Highly competent in PC, including Microsoft office, CAD experience a plus.
