Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Service company vehicles and equipment in a safe, quality, and timely manner
    • Lubricate moving parts of friction surfaces of mechanical equipment
    • Perform services at scheduled intervals
  • Inspect vehicles and equipment and report issues to the Fleet Maintenance Department
  • Travel to job sites to perform necessary mechanic services on Fleet vehicles and equipment
  • Keep company truck/work area clean and secure
  • Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements
  • Comply with company and federal safety rules, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain and establish cooperative working relationships
  • Speak effectively with customers and employees of the company
  • Serve as an example for other employees; foster a culture of respect, integrity, and kindness
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Cross-train in all facets of Fleet, preparing to fill in for anyone absent and to grow in responsibility and scope over time.

The person in this role will uphold the culture of Utilitra, including relationship building with customers as well as general behavior on Utilitra or client premises or at Utilitra sponsored events.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 1+ year diesel mechanic experience; electrical construction experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
    • Class A valid CDL or ability to obtain Class A CDL within six months of hire preferred
  • Ability to work with minimal to no supervision and perform independent tasks based upon the general direction

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be comfortable working outdoors in extreme temperatures and conditions
  • Able to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Capable of bending, twisting, turning, lifting, stretching, pushing, pulling, and crouching as needed to perform the various essential functions and job duties of this role
  • Able to reach with hands and arms
  • Able to stand for moderate to long periods
  • Able to regularly lift 40 pounds and periodically lift up to 75 pounds

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel is required within a 150mile radius of headquarters.
