We are currently searching for 2nd and 3rd Shift Production Associates for Kit Assembly for our Jackson, MI location. As a Production Associate you can expect to produce corrugated or chip packaging products for our customers in coherence with promoting the corporate vision, mission statement, and core values.

Opus Packaging is pleased to provide a competitive medical, vision, dental insurance package along with company paid life insurance for you and your family on your 1st day of employment. We also offer 401k, PTO, production bonus, safety bonus program and safety shoe reimbursement. New hires are eligible for a $500 ($1500 total) stay bonus at 90 days, 180 days, and one year of service.

What you need to be successful at Opus Packaging:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural documents.
  • Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • Work safely.

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Previous experience in warehouse or packaging environment.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to properly use and understand the required measurement equipment including tape measures, micrometers, and other tools as required by specific jobs.

During a normal workday you can expect to:

  • Bend, reach, stoop, squat and stand for 8 hours.
  • Have good hand - eye coordination.
  • Occasional lifting of 50 pounds and frequent lifting of 10-20 pounds.
  • Understand machine set-up, machine runs, plant data entry, handwork, or assembly assignments.
