Title: IT/OT Systems Engineer
Department: BTO
Immediate Supervisor: Corp Sr. Controls & Integration Manager
Status: Exempt
Position Purpose: The position will work directly with the Sr. Corporate Controls and Integration Manager to create and execute capital strategies aligned with the company values to increase profitability through strategic transformational projects while keeping a balance with updating legacy facilities and vintage equipment to improve production and quality metrics.


Roles and Responsibilities:


This candidate will share responsibilities for the following:

• Supporting our capital projects and the needs of each regarding our Plant Side networking and device communications.
• Work with our Digital Transformation group to create and develop the means to connect and extract data from our many disparate data sources throughout the corporation.
• Keep updated and or define new IP Addressing structures as needed for new device additions.
• Management and Support of our many Corporate SCADA and Application Servers.
o Most notable is our suite of GE Proficy Applications. This experience is a "Must Have".
• Create and manage a yearly Software Revision Level Management Plan to keep all software at the current revision levels throughout the corporation.
• Maintain our GE Global Support Programs.
• Work with our IT group professionals to create and align strategies to validate the security of our "PlantFloor" networking.
• Work with our IT Department to develop and support all Patch Management programs of the "Plant Floor" servers and devices. This includes defining patch management policies.
• Aid in governing each of the Capital projects to validate our networking standards are being considered and/or implemented.
• Working with our project group to deploy "Machine Health" tier boards throughout the corporation utilizing our ThinManager servers and Arista clients.
• Working with our project group to deploy "Downtime" Applications throughout the Enterprise.
• Manage and track licensing for applications such as ThinManager, GE Proficy, MS CALs, etc.
o Create and maintain central licensing servers as needed.
• Be able to create Initial Scope Definition and Design documents for network installations and manage installation professionals for networking hardware, fiber, and copper communications.
• Knowledge of Cisco Switch router programming.
• Work with our IT department to create necessary VMs and Server Configs as needed for SCADA and Historian software applications.
• Maintain our GE Historians and API connectivity to our higher-level analytics platforms.
• Network and Hardware inventory using NetBox and Device Version Management utilizing Octoplant

Skills and Experience:


• Knowledge of Computer / Server VMs, their setup practices, and applications thereof.
• Knowledge of Network subnetting and VLAN configuration.
• Knowledge of using RDP to log into Virtual Machines for application development and support.
• Knowledge of ODBC Connectivity.
• Proficient Knowledge around Server-Client infrastructure, setup, purposes, etc.
• Proficient Knowledge around setting up a Terminal Server environment and Managing ACP ThinManager Client Software.
o Tasks would include support, maintenance, adding terminals based on project needs, patch management, and licensing management.
• Knowledge of and experience with GE Proficy iFix SCADA development.
• Knowledge of and experience with GE iFix Terminal Server Environment.
• Knowledge of and experience with GE Proficy iHistorian Applications.
• Knowledge of SQL Server, how the database connectivity works and how to create iFix Applications using SQL.
• Knowledge of Industrial machines, PLCs, HMI SCADA systems, and how each communicate together.
• Knowledge of the different networking topologies and Ethernet IP communications for Industrial Environments.
• Knowledge of and experience with OPC Communications, drivers, and client-server applications and setup.
• Knowledge of and experience with ODBC server/client applications and setup.
• Experience in Continuous Process Manufacturing vs. Discrete Manufacturing.
• AutoCAD and Visio Skills to update Network and Plant Floor Layouts for Switch Locations etc.
