Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to support our Telehealth Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) and students with communication needs. As a School Communication Paraprofessional, you will play a crucial role in helping to facilitate effective communication and learning experiences for our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Telehealth SLP in delivering speech and language therapy services to students, including helping to manage groups, scheduling, and transportation of students
  • Manage group dynamics and behavior to ensure a positive and productive learning environment
  • Assist with the facilitation of hands-on activities and materials preparation for therapy sessions
  • Follow the SLP's schedule to ensure timely pickup and drop-off of students from class, as well as assist with transitions between therapy sessions
  • Provide support to students with communication needs, including augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices
  • Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to ensure effective communication and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or early childhood education experience preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and families from diverse backgrounds
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices and strategies a plus

Work Environment:
  • The School Communication Paraprofessional will work in a school setting, providing support to students and staff in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Will be required to lift, bend, and move materials and equipment as needed
