Resident Engineer

Resident Engineer(2nd Shift) - Toledo, OH.
Long-term contract position
Pay Rate: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour (based on proven work history)
Shift:Monday - Friday 4:30pm - 12:30am (shift could run 10hrs. until 2:30am), Saturday work required as needed
Details of the Resident Engineer:
- Responsible for planning and execution of failure analysis of defect parts and prototypes as well as reporting
- Responsible for return of defect parts to supplier to evaluate and eliminate the causes of non-conformities
- Facilitate speedy problem solving of customer returns
- Responsible for rework and repair at customers assembly line and rework area, including coordination of material
- Elimination of suspect parts at customer plant and corporate warehouse(s)
- Recording rework and sorting costs
- Responsible for validation of prototype and samples
- Assists in supplier audits (on request)
- Overall onsite QM support activities, including night shift, for customer during product life cycle (e.g. documentation of deviations, implementation of corrective actions to eliminate the detected nonconformities, etc.)
- Support and implement procedures and work instructions by corporate
- Interface between corporate and customer regarding the operational quality subjects
- Support of customer during the implementation of new products in assembly processes including recording and responding in case of deviations
Requirements of the Resident Engineer:
Bachelor's degree in quality engineering or equivalent preferred
Wire harness manufacturing experience is a plus
Experience in automotivelaunch of electrical distribution systems preferred
Experience is assessment of quality issues, implementation of containment activities and root cause analysis problem solving techniques
Effective customer communication skills
Strong analytical skills
Demonstrated proficiency in interpersonal and professional communication skills with senior leadership
