Petzl America's Distribution Center is seeking a Manager to oversee the daily operations of the inbound portion of the DC. The successful candidate will lead the DC team with a positive and optimistic attitude providing daily management of the leads and supporting technicians. The Inbound Manager will be the point person for troubleshooting, concerns, and any issues needing escalation in inbound operations and will provide backup for the DC Manager and the inbound lead as needed.

The tasks & responsibilities for this position are as follows:

Management

  1. Directs the work of assigned DC staff on a daily basis
  2. Conduct regular performance management (reviews) for assigned employees and address any needs for disciplinary action quickly & effectively
  3. Oversee operational tasks and projects
  4. Partner with the DC Director in the hiring process, including interviews and selection.
  5. Conduct daily team meetings (SIM) and lead all other meetings as assigned
  6. Report employee input to the DC Director and help develop an action plan to follow-up on this input.
  7. Assess and address employee needs relative to tools, training, and other resources.
  8. Manage & maintain inventory levels and storage requirements in all the storage racking.
  9. Ensure all active products are correctly setup and flowing as needed through DC operations. Make sure all new product is correctly setup in Exacta.

Operations

  1. Spend a minimum of 80% of your time actively involved in DC operations.
  2. Report inbound work status (i.e. receiving turnaround status, difficulties, etc.) to the DC Director on a daily basis.
  3. Coordinate and schedule arrival of receipts to the DC Director and Supply Chain.
  4. Ensure accurate dating on all inbound receipts, communicate with Supply Chain any special needs, backorders or requests.
  5. Workflow must be proactively planned, mapped, and communicated with staff for optimum efficiency in every area.
  6. Petzl receipts are to be received on time 1 day on MA, 2 day on FR containers. They should be checked carefully for damage and all damage shall be documented and reported to the After Sales Manager
  7. Support DC Team on the common goal of same day shipping at 99.85% accuracy.
  8. Promote and teach an understanding of product quality and quality of handling and packing.
  9. Conduct cycle counts of each storage location twice a year and report all results as required by Petzl America's Controller.
  10. Be the point person for all inventory related concerns and improvements, specifically in the WMS.

Safety and Work Environment

Help create a safe and efficient environment, meeting standards as set by OSHA and local fire codes.

Technical

Develop working knowledge of SAP and Exacta until advanced level is attained while also maintaining working knowledge of all mobile devices, hardware & software in the DC. You will also work with key people on system bugs & improvements.
