Network Engineer I

Position Summary: 

We're looking for a full-time, mid-level Network Engineer to join our dynamic team supporting customers. The role involves working on government Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems. Responsibilities include network and subsystem maintenance and troubleshooting. The job is based in a Network Operations Center in Titusville, FL, with 24/7 operations, periodic on-call duty, and potential for rotating shift work. Travel to multiple site locations across the US may be required for equipment upgrades or repair.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with planning and implementation with scalable and secure network solutions to meet current and future business requirements.
  • Configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN gateways to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Identify and resolve network-related issues, including connectivity problems, outages, and performance bottlenecks in a timely manner.
  • Implement and enforce security measures to protect the organization's network infrastructure from cyber threats and unauthorized access.
  • Continuously monitor network performance, analyze data, and implement optimizations to enhance network efficiency and reliability.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, changes, and procedures.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for equipment procurement, support contracts, and technical assistance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that network requirements are met for various projects and initiatives.
  • Plan for network capacity growth and make recommendations for infrastructure upgrades as needed.

Core Competencies:

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, ACLs, Trunk Ports, VLANs, and networking protocols.
  • Understanding of security best practices, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPN technologies.
  • Familiarity with network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and network management tools.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve network issues efficiently.
  • Strong documentation skills to maintain network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
  • Effective communication skills to work with cross-functional teams and vendors.
  • Ability to analyze network performance data and make data-driven decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Must have at least two years of experience
  • Required certifications:
    • Security+
  • Additional certifications a plus: A+, MCP, Network+, CCNA
  • Related military training and/or job experience is a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
