PND Engineers, Inc. invites you to join our dynamic team in Juneau, Alaska, in a multifaceted position that will challenge and inspire you. Working on a wide variety of structural engineering design and construction projects, both public and private, you will have the opportunity to refine your skills and contribute to impactful projects while immersing yourself in the beauty of Alaska's landscapes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine structural loads and perform calculations, analysis, and design for buildings, bridges, and waterfront structures including low-rise structures, bridges (vehicle and pedestrian), marine terminals, harbors, piers, wharves, and bulkheads.
  • Assist in the development of construction drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Conduct inspections and condition assessments of existing structures, preparing technical engineering reports with recommendations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on related fields such as site-civil design, surveying, environmental engineering, and permitting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with Structural emphasis from an ABET-accredited engineering school.
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (F.E.) exam or ability to do so within 6 months of hire.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, approximately 10-20% of the time.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and good driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree preferred, P.E. or S.E. licensure encouraged.
  • Experience with structural analysis software (e.g., RISA 3D, Ram Structural Systems) and AutoCAD/Revit.
  • Knowledge of relevant design codes/standards (IBC, ASCE-7, AASHTO, UFC).
