  1. Objective:

The primary objective of the Buyer / Planner is to work cross functionally to creates and maintains forecast models for customers, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, engineering and other sources; developing a monthly Demand Plan to be approved through the IPB process.
  1. Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Consolidate, at least once a month, the forecast from all customers, in one single Forecast Plan for the whole company, including part number description, quantities, shipping point, customer hierarchy, customer ship to etc.
  • Validate pricing with Finance and Sales in order to make the Forecast Plan in both Quantities and Revenue
  • Track history shipments for at least 36 months by part number, families of part numbers, by customer, by shipping point etc. and run statistical forecasting models depending on the specifics of each customer and/or part number.
  • Identify trends in the history shipments and compare them to the Forecast Plan, such as seasonality, special events/dates, end of calendar/fiscal years etc. and professionally challenge the customer's provided forecast to validate the plan.
  • In collaboration with Sales, marketing, Engineering, gather the future business plans, product launches, possible customer/business gains and include these quantities into the Demand Plan factored by the agreed percentage of probability.
  • Consolidate in a Demand Plan, the forecast plan + the statistical and trends findings + new business/products quantities at different levels like total company, by customer, by production plant etc.
  • As part of the IPB Process, lead the monthly Demand Review with Sales, Finance, Operations and Supply Chain. Prepare to discuss the Demand Plan and get approval on a final number.
  • Load the approved Demand Plan into the ERP system following the guidelines for strategies (make to order, make to forecast etc.) and time buckets.
  • Develop a collaborative network relationship with Sales, Production Operation, Warehouse, QA, Finance, Engineering and the other groups inside Supply Chain to efficiently and accurate execute the tasks.
  • Escalate issues/stoppers according to the escalation process, communicate them in the Tier meetings, document the action plans and track the resolution. Keep ERP system updated.
  • Keep updated procedures and work instructions about how to execute each task.
  • Track the KPI's related to this role in the Organization Scorecard. Make the investigations of the deviations (using 3-whys, four quadrants, etc.) and present the outcomes during the Monthly Department Results Review

  1. Role Requirements:
  • Educational
    • High School Diploma or higher
  • Experience
    • 3 - 5 yrs. of experience in demand planning and forecasting or an equivalent combination of work-related experience and education.
    • Background in forecasting tools and statistical models.
    • Supply Chain certification preferred (APICS, ISM or CPSM), not required.
  • Skills
    • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office, emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
    • Advanced communication skills, verbal and written.
    • Ability to develop strong working relationships.
    • Excellent organizational and planning skills
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
    • Ability to multi-task and manage competing deadlines.
