The successful candidate will ensure the team delivers on key objectives, meets deadlines, adheres to safety and quality standards, and plays a pivotal role in aligning business strategies with engineering solutions.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work within a program and system integrator-focused environment, where you’ll oversee systems integration and guide specialized teams in SatCom, RF, ME, EE, and Systems Integration.

YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

  • Leadership & Management: Direct and oversee the engineering team to design, develop, and implement cutting-edge solutions in Satellite Communications.
  • Program & System Integration: Lead teams in RF and system integration projects with emphasis on reflector antenna SatCom systems.
  • Financial Management: Oversee P&L for engineering, manage overhead budgets, Estimates at Completion (EAC), labor budget, and salary planning. Ensure financial metrics are aligned with business goals.
  • Sustaining IRAD: Manage Internal Research and Development (IRAD) programs, ensuring sustained innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Product Development: Drive the development of new products and systems, from concept through testing to production and delivery.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing to assess market potential and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Process Improvement: Advocate for and facilitate continuous process improvements that increase efficiency and enhance quality.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide strategic technical direction, mitigate risks, and ensure successful project outcomes by aligning engineering capabilities with long-term business roadmaps.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Engagement: Regularly interact with key stakeholders, including executive leadership and customers, to report on project progress, financial health, and strategic alignment.
  • Team Development: Manage and mentor the engineering team, ensuring appropriate staffing, training, and development to support growth and operational excellence.

YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE:

  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of engineering management experience in SATCOM or a related industry.
  • Technical Expertise: Extensive experience in reflector antenna systems within the satellite communications domain, along with expertise in systems engineering, RF, ME, EE, and systems integration.
  • Systems Engineering : Proven proficiency in systems engineering and requirements management.
  • IRAD Management: Advanced experience in IRAD management and driving innovation in the SatCom sector.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong experience managing P&L, budgeting, EAC, and financial analysis.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead large, multi-disciplinary engineering teams in a functional matrix organization, while recognizing and mitigating technical and organizational risks.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Applied Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s is preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent financial, technical, and organizational skills, including MS Office proficiency.
  • Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical and business concepts to senior management and customers.
  • Must be a US citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense clearance up to TS/SCI.
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% (domestic and international)

WHAT WE OFFER:
