Job Title: Outreach Worker

Location/Work Status: Kapolei, Hawaii with flexible work environment

Job Type: Full Time, Non Exempt

Compensation: $19.61 / hour with competitive benefits package

Comprehensive Counseling and Support Services (CCSS) provide integrated services to promote the safety, permanency and well-being of children and families on Oahu by addressing the causes that place children at risk of child abuse, neglect or result in child maltreatment. Families are referred to the program by Child Welfare Services (CWS), Voluntary Case Management (VCM) or Family Strengthening Services (FSS). The overall goal of CCSS is to assist families with providing and promoting a safe family home for their children. The program is committed to providing a non-judgmental, culturally sensitive environment that focuses on the individual needs of each family.

The Outreach Worker will provide supervised family visitation and outreach services to low to high-risk families referred by the DHS. The Outreach Worker provides culturally appropriate, and strengths-based services related to child safety concerns. This position is under the direct supervision of the Program Supervisor.

Essential Duties:

  1. Behaves in a manner that supports the agency's mission and follows personnel policies and procedures.
  2. Provides supervised family visitation and outreach services to all families referred to the program, focusing on parenting, problem solving, communication skills and assisting the client in reducing risk factors and increasing protective factors. In partnership with families, curriculum materials are used to promote positive parent and child interaction and parenting, increase child development knowledge, promote family’s interaction with the community and improve health-seeking behaviors.
  3. Responsible for transportation, the supervision and monitoring of children during visitations, and home visits.
  4. Conducts assessments and observation forms in accordance with funder and state guidelines, and PACT policies and procedures.
  5. Accurately completes all necessary documentation, reports and correspondence timely.
  6. Regularly consults with Clinical Therapist/Case Manager and/or Program Supervisor.
  7. Responsible for supporting the families in completing goals on the Individualized Program Plan (IPP) to reach permanency.
  8. Participates in all team and staff meetings, conferences, trainings, and workshops as arranged by the Program Supervisor or funder.
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. High School Diploma, required.
  2. Minimum of two years working with parents/caretakers who harmed their children or threatened their children with harm and children who experienced harm or were threatened with harm and experienced trauma and loss.

Other:

  1. Be at least 18 years of age.
  2. Possesses and maintains a valid driver’s license.
  3. Has daily access to an automobile.
  4. Possesses and maintains proof of no-fault insurance.
  5. Can obtain an acceptable pre-hire driver’s abstract.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field preferred.
