Job Title : Senior Capacity Engineer

Location : Kirkland WA (onsite)

What you get to do in this role:

  • We are an Operations team that is responsible for the capacity
  • Manage, monitor, and manipulate the server farm behind cloud.
  • Work directly on/with the servers to enable and optimize capacity utilization.
  • Enhance processes and tools necessary to simplify and provide consistent project execution.
  • Provide proactive management and innovation to ensure 100% success of cloud automation.

Required

  • Intermediate to deep understanding of service and components of enterprise cloud capacity operations.
  • Proactively monitor and maintain site-wide capacity demands.
  • Experience in fast-paced operations and engineering environments.
  • Understanding of database concepts with specific experience with MySQL/Postgres.
  • Experience in DNS/DHCP and PXE boot kickstart process and bare metal/rack deployments
  • Linux System Admin skills preferably working knowledge of Centos and RedHat.
  • Develop bash or Python scripts to perform repetitive operation tasks.
  • Basic understanding of enterprise-class server hardware eg. Dell.
  • Basic understanding of storage concepts such as NFS, and iSCSI.
  • Collaborate with partner teams to develop automation strategies and deployment processes.
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results.
  • Understanding of backup policies and restore concepts.
  • Team collaboration and fit are essential.

Preferred

  • Basic understanding of ServiceNow asset management.
  • Storage configuration concepts configuration and experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced network troubleshooting skills.
  • Understanding of Puppet configuration management.
  • Good to have API development, Ansible, Python, Linux shell scripting, and PowerShell.
