Mechanical Engineer/Drafter - CNP
Centrisys/CNP is a worldwide leader and the treatment of sludge and biosolids. We provide technologies for sludge thickening, dewatering, thermal hydrolysis, drying and nutrient removal.
To respond to the strong market interest in our hydrolysis and nutrient removal technologies, we are seeking a Mechanical Engineer/Drafter to join our CNP team. This position is responsible for design, development, and implementation of our PONDUS thermal hydrolysis- and MagPrex nutrient removal technologies.
The ideal candidate will have a background in tank design and fabrication. Experience in designing pipe layout and skid layouts, including pump selection for municipal and industrial applications, will be a plus.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design tanks and pipe layouts: prepare machining and fabrication drawings, select purchased components; review existing designs for improvement; execute engineering change orders. Design assistance and guidance will come from the product manager
- Analyze component function and physical property requirements; understand special concepts with respect to system interfaces; apply proper dimensioning and tolerancing principals to modeling, design, and drawing; and interpret project requirements and their relationship to CNP equipment
- Review and interpret contract specifications and drawings to identify equipment and system requirements; identify areas of compliance and/or deviation; design custom fabrications to meet contract requirements; produce engineering submittal drawings; select required ancillary equipment; address contract engineer’s review comments; and prepare custom fabrication drawings
- Prepare sales drawings; communicate with sales representatives; provide information to consulting engineers
- Effectively utilize of CAD Station, SolidWorks CAD and add-in software, special application printers, MS Office software, and MS Outlook
- Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and technical writing comprehension
- Demonstrate and maintain the ability to learn and develop skills quickly
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Structural or Plant engineering or in a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Plant Design Engineer designing tanks and pipe layouts for liquid/solids media.
- Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and products
- Excellent math skills: ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems
- Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, REVIT in designing 3D tanks and pipe layouts
- Strong experience in plant layouts
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong self-leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact with clients effectively, persuasively, and tactfully, regulators, project managers, and employees at all levels of the organization
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements
- Professional Engineer - PE Registration preferred
- Pre-employment background check & drug screening required
