To perform this job successfully, the individual we seek will have an Industrial/Automative industry background, great communication skills, and an even-tempered management style. Fundamental thought Leadership is needed in that we must be better than basic compliance to truly access the benefits that come with lean manufacturing and a continuous improvement culture. They will be responsible for leading a production team of about 15 direct reports.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Adapt to changing production needs and communicate with the production team to facilitate continuous improvements throughout the facility.
  • Define and monitor process metrics to target improvements in internal customer satisfaction, productivity, cost, and quality.
  • Drive accountability to monthly/annual budget goals; allocate resources to drive production.
  • Collaborate with Leaders and teams to increase efficiency and throughput.
  • Monitor and approve weekly timecards for accuracy.
  • Ensure the team maintains high levels of efficiency.
  • Train and coach team members and other Associates.
  • Support and facilitate teams’ partnership and development.
  • Determine day to day responsibilities of staff positions to accomplish business objectives.
  • Handles discipline and termination of associates in accordance with the company policy.
  • Maintain a balance between the needs of customers, our Associates, and the company.
  • Analyze data and create reports of plant production to share with Global Leadership.
  • Communicate production goals and initiatives to all plant Associates.
  • Monitor and drive progress through reportable KPI’s.
  • Take ownership and accountability of the process and the Associates.
  • Travel to Global Headquarters in Lewis Center, OH on occasion.
  • Follow all company safety policies and practices.
  • Lead by example, do the hard things (including having difficult conversations), expect more, and be compassionate and persistent.


Required qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or equivalent field.
  • 5-10 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5-10 years’ proven experience as a trustworthy, effective team Leader.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, and leading teams.
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment.
  • Ability to self-start and work without immediate direct supervision.
  • Proactive Leader-solution mindset.
  • Experience with P&L (profit and loss) management.
  • Willing to travel up to 10%.

 

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience with machining.

 

Physical requirements:

  • Willingness to work around chemicals and use appropriate PPE.
