Job Title: Shipping Specialist

Shift: 1st

Pay: $18-21


Summary:

Work within the shipping/receiving department with a primary focus on receiving duties and raw material FIFO and a secondary focus on utilizing free time to help prepare orders for outgoing shipments.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform forklift safety checks and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Unload trucks using a forklift/pallet jack.
  • Verify product identification numbers and quantities to shippers.
  • Receive products electronically, print labels and properly apply them while repalletizing products for storage.
  • Maintain FIFO for all warehouse materials.
  • Report incoming damaged freight and write hold tags for products when necessary.
  • Pick orders for outgoing shipments (time permitting).
  • Rotate stock to point of use storage areas while maintaining.
  • All other duties assigned.


Skill Requirements

  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Strong professional and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact with co-workers, customers, vendors, and visitors in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills Education and Experience Requirements.
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience Licensing or Special Certification Requirements.
  • MiOSHA Industrial Powered Truck License Physical Requirements.
  • Standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching and climbing stairs.
  • Lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds and occasional loads up to 51 pounds.
  • Pushing or pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • Use of hands and legs.
  • Speak clearly, oral communication and hearing conversation.
  • Ability for rapid manual/muscular coordination simultaneously involving wrist/hands/fingers.
  • Vision: depth perception and distinguish basic colors.
  • Operation of truck or motor vehicle.
