Job Summary:
The RMA Technician is responsible for handling returned merchandise, including inspecting, testing, repairing, and documenting products returned by customers. This role requires attention to detail, strong technical skills, and excellent communication abilities to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and Process RMAs:
- Manage incoming returns and create Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) tickets in the system.
- Verify returned items against RMA documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Inspection and Testing:
- Inspect returned products for damage, defects, and warranty compliance.
- Conduct tests on returned items to determine functionality and repair needs.
- Repair and Troubleshooting:
- Perform necessary repairs on returned items following company guidelines.
- Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of all returns, inspections, repairs, and customer communications.
- Update inventory systems and track the status of returned items.
- Customer Communication:
- Communicate with customers regarding the status of their returns and repairs.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers as needed.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all repairs meet company quality standards before returning items to customers.
- Assist in developing and improving RMA processes and procedures.
- Inventory Management:
- Assist in managing inventory levels of returned merchandise and replacement parts.
- Prepare defective items for return to suppliers or manufacturers when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred.
- Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in technical support, repair, or a related field.
- Experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and software for repairs and testing.
- Familiarity with electronic components and troubleshooting methods.

- Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.
