Job Title: Medical Assistant or LPN

Job Summary:

Kettering Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant or LPN to join our team as an Ortho Technician. This role will assist the provider in examination and treatment of patients, perform miscellaneous delegated duties, and provide administrative support throughout the practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the provider in examination and treatment of patients, performing miscellaneous delegated duties under the direction of the provider.
  • Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information in patients' charts.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients.
  • Under the supervision of the physician, assist in providing patient care orthopedic technician responsibilities (e.g. splinting, casting, dressing functions) and performing medical assistant duties (e.g. charting, vitals, preparing injections).
  • May be requested to substitute for other office personnel and conduct responsibilities of front desk/check-out.
  • Any other duties relating to the business operation of the medical practice that may be assigned by the physician(s) or practice office manager.


Requirements:

  • Must either have six months experience as a Medical Assistant, OR, have graduated from an accredited MA or Medical Office Management program that meets nationally accepted standards.
  • Within one year from date of hire, continued employment will require successful attainment and retention of CCMA, CMA (AAMA) or NCMA certification or RMA plus documented completion of a Medical Assisting program through an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • LPN: Graduate of accredited LPN program (or equivalent) with current Ohio license.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of technical school or college orthopedic technician or technology program resulting in a certificate or an associate degree required.
