Position: Recess Monitor
We are seeking a reliable and responsible individual to join our team as a Recess Monitor. The Recess Monitor will be responsible for supervising students during recess periods to ensure their safety and well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise students during recess periods, ensuring they play safely and follow school rules
- Monitor playground equipment to ensure it is in good working order and report any maintenance issues
- Assist in resolving conflicts or issues that may arise during recess
- Communicate with teachers and staff regarding any concerns or incidents involving students
- Maintain a positive and encouraging atmosphere during recess to promote a fun and safe environment
- Seek the assistance of the School Nurse in emergencies as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working with children in a school or recreational setting a must
- Able to be on your feet for lengthy intervals, walking through playground and interacting with children in play
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations
- CPR and first aid certification is a plus
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
This position is part time, 4 days per week (no Tuesdays) for a total of 16 hours per week from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. during school recess periods. If you are passionate about working with children and ensuring their safety and well-being, we encourage you to apply for the Recess Monitor position.
