Position: Recess Monitor
BRASS CITY CHARTER SCHOOL is looking for a dedicated and trustworthy individual to take on the role of Recess Monitor. This position involves overseeing students during their recess times to guarantee their safety and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee students during recess, ensuring they engage in safe play and adhere to school regulations.
- Inspect playground equipment for safety and functionality, reporting any maintenance needs.
- Assist in mediating conflicts or issues that may arise among students during playtime.
- Liaise with teachers and staff regarding any concerns or incidents involving students.
- Foster a positive and supportive environment during recess to encourage enjoyable and safe interactions.
- Collaborate with the School Nurse in case of emergencies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings is preferred.
- Ability to remain active for extended periods, engaging with children in their play.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capacity to maintain composure in challenging situations.
- CPR and first aid certification is advantageous.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
