DESCRIPTION:


We are seeking an experienced and innovative Private Chef for an UHNW family in Beverly Hills, CA. The ideal candidate will have a fine dining restaurant background in Michelin and/or James Beard-recognized kitchens. This chef must also be skilled at seasonal menu development and be able to meet the meal preferences and restrictions of the Principal and his family, visitors and private event guests. Additionally, this chef will be tasked with shopping for ingredients, ordering food and supplies and overall quality control.

This Private Chef should be very adaptable, work well under pressure and be able to prepare and serve various meals on time. We strive to meet Forbes Five Star standards at all times.


***Our ideal candidate will be able to relocate to East Hampton for 3 months in the summer. Housing will be provided.***


Job duties:


  • Communicate with Principal to determine food preferences and dietary restrictions.
  • Ensure that care and attention is paid to any food allergies or meal preparation specifications from clients.
  • Review ingredients and other packaged food products to check for quality and consumption date. Compliance to all food, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Clean and maintain the workstation before and after every meal preparation.
  • Wash, clean, and sanitize cooking equipment and utensils
  • Plating meals in a timely manner.
  • Monitor food stock, equipments and tools and place orders.
  • Order ingredients and other materials needed for meal preparation.
  • Modify existing recipes to meet clients needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy) without hesitation.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven work experience in the service industry as a Personal Chef, Chef, Cook, or a similar role.
  • Professional Culinary training or certification is desirable but not required.
  • Event/Banquet/Production experience
  • Knowledge of a variety of dietary lifestyles and restrictions
  • Ability to cook different types of cuisines, baking and pastry techniques.
  • Complete knowledge of industry, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to travel if necessary
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to be a team player.
  • Ability to remain calm and undertake various functions.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
