Mission for the position: Bring your A-game and become part of Connecticut’s premier paving company. We pave the most high-profile projects in CT You will be operating the most modern paving equipment in the industry and you will network with a highly skilled workforce. Constructing projects with maximum safety, efficiency and quality, the operator will be required to perform daily tasks assigned by foreman and/or superintendent effectively and professionally. He/she should not be afraid to ask questions or clarifications when the task is not familiar with their background and experience or when the precise means for the operation are not obvious or clear.


Outcomes that must be accomplished:


  • The Stamford-Greenwich project requires operators to safely and efficiently operate excavators, wheeled excavators, mini excavators, and loaders, on night operations with lane closures and adjacent to live highway traffic.
  • Skilled operators that can also run dirt rollers and dozers are preferred
  • Operator must be willing to work efficiently and safely at night for the entire 2024 and 2025 season and beyond.
  • Execute tasks and work hard in a safe, efficient and positive manner
  • Physical strength and endurance: work hard and safely
  • Follow project schedule: show up on time according to the foreman and superintendents directions
  • Communication and Ethics: integrate with other employees, maintain harmony and positive productive environment within the crew, and communicate respectfully with the rest of the project team
  • Knowledge of construction materials, tools and safety protocols to operate them
  • Ability to follow safety protocols


Competencies for the position:


  • Two (2) years of experience operating excavators (tracked or wheeled), loaders, and asphalt paving equipment like rollers, pavers, MTV, or skid-steers.
  • Team player willing to take directions from Waters Paving Division, or Heavy Civil Division superintendents and foremen.
  • Compliant and responsible for the safe operation and basic maintenance of your assigned equipment.
  • Physically fit and in shape to perform laborer work
  • OSHA 10 hour
  • OSHA HAZWOPER 40 (preferred)
  • Current CT driver's license
  • Reliable personal transportation and willing to travel within CT
  • Can work Overtime when needed
  • Fluent in English for both verbal and written communication
  • Basic layout understanding and knows the difference between tenths/inches
  • Experience in site development / heavy highway / paving / concrete ( 3 year)
  • Willingness to learn
  • Lives in CT or can commute to jobsites
  • High school diploma or GED
