Job Description

 

Analyze and coordinate the acquisition, distribution, internal allocation, and delivery of tooling, materials, and all non-inventory parts to all manufacturing lines and plant functional areas as assigned.  This position is responsible for using established sources to adhere to the needs of the manufacturing and office areas.  Provides detailed analysis, using 80/20 principles, of trends and usages of materials.  Also provides feedback on unusual occurrences and corrective actions on stock-outs and excess stock. Furthermore, this position is responsible for the timely planning, ordering, scheduling, and inventory control of products and services as assigned consistent with the sourcing policy.  Monitors supplier programs to ensure accuracy.

 

Core Responsibilities:

 

  • Analyze inventory system and usage to determine if items on hand have enough to meet manufacturing requirements, including exceptional needs as communicated.
  • Supports root cause analysis through analysis of reports identifying trends, change in usage, and identify unusual patterns.
  • Manages the RFQ process for all non-inventory material and tools.
  • Place orders and follow-up as needed for items taking into consideration established prices, discounts and terms of purchase.
  • Set up Kanban and maintain the visual reorder min-max bin store room process to assure exceptional and easy communication as well as continuity during absences.
  • Repairs and/or orders replacement tooling and machine parts following Kanban system.
  • Preparation and issuing of tooling kits for machine set-ups to manufacturing.
  • Maintain computer systems to effectively communicate with internal customers, as well as suppliers, regarding inventory levels and usage, orders, prices, terms, delivery, and deadlines.
  • Make purchases based on approved sources, advising all price revisions and expediting delivery of purchases.
  • Work with the suppliers in setting up restocking and consignment programs.
  • Negotiate credits and adjustments, inform of schedule changes and obtain satisfactory arrangements with companies to prevent shipment delays, receives P.O’s.
  • Maintain all files to include; acknowledgments, amendments, and supply requisitions. Review packing slips for accuracy, and make corrections as needed. Forward packing slips to accounts payable to insure timely payments to suppliers. 
  • Assists with the completion of supplier scorecards and ratings and proactively assists with supplier consolidation or improvement efforts as part of feedback loop
  • Work with Accounts Payable to resolve discrepancies between packing slips, purchase orders and/or invoice.
  • Manage preventative maintenance program and ensure that all components are in stock to support the maintenance team members while performing the tasks.
  • Create reports of monthly spending and report to leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Bachelor Degree, preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience as a MRO/Tooling Analyst in high-volume/high-output environment, required.
  • Must have strong demonstrated understanding of equipment parts and tooling.
  • Skills required for this position are strong analytical, maintenance background, knowledge of tooling tracking software (FIIX is a plus), pc skills including (i.e. MO Excel, MO Word and other MO applications), organization, time management, problem solving skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Must have strong maintenance parts knowledge (i.e. sensor styles, pneumatic components, electric motors, gearboxes, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate with vendors about topics such as lead times, pricing, and other details pertaining to purchasing items.
  • In addition, maintain a high level of interpersonal skills with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy. 
  • Must be able to work within established health, safety and quality standards.
