Financial Analyst - Greer, SC

Position Summary:

Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Financial Analyst for operations on the finance team will provide financial support for projects (~50%), and support one or more manufacturing sites in all aspects of finance to include, month end close, budget preparation, capital review, forecasting, and other activities (~50%). This team member will gather input data for cost analysis from cross-functional teams, working closely with Sales and Operations departments. This role requires strong analytical and math skills to pull data together into an accurate and defendable cost roll up. Team member will be proactive in data analysis, process improvement and being a strategic business partner to multiple functions.

Primary Functions:

• Support Project Management Office and Operations team with concise information from which to drive projects and profitability.
  • Collaborate with PMO to develop and deliver projects on time and on budget.
  • Follow new solution design with objective of being able to cost the solution at any point during development.
  • Communicate regularly with project managers and plant managers
  • Travel as needed to familiarize resources and procedures.

• Support operational facilities throughout close and forecasting process
  • Perform month end close activities to include accounting entries and reconciliations
  • Provide financial modeling, KPI’s, and guidance to operational leaders to help drive decisions.
  • Forecast future periods based on data and provide guidance on achieving those targets.
  • Support continuous improvement and lean activities.
  • Challenge existing standard cost information for continued tightness of standards.

• Stay updated regarding manufacturing changes to help drive improved financial results.
  • Update system cost information to reflect new processes and equipment that will impact product cost.
  • Keep models updated for target margins and other strategic initiatives

• Push the finance function to the next level
  • Automate and eliminate manual work through Power BI and other data models
  • Build smart models allowing quicker and accuracy decisions across various financial aspects of the business
  • Not taking the current processes as good enough, but continuously improving
  • Keep models updated for target margins and other strategic initiatives

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in finance/ accounting/ /business or related
• Prior cost accounting experience a plus
• 2+ years of prior experience in finance/manufacturing and technical knowledge
• 2+ years' experience in data collection and analysis for financial review.
• Fluent in Spanish.
• Comprehensive knowledge of project management functions such as planning, organizing, coordinating, directing and controlling.
• (Preferred) Experience with new product development.
• Epicor ERP and quoting software knowledge/experience a plus but not essential
• Big data (Power BI among other) experience a plus but not essential
• Past experience in budgeting, forecasting and data model building a plus

• Proficiency in statistical analysis to gather operational data that will be used in cost rollup.

• Ability to utilize various personal computer programs within a LAN environment, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ERP systems.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, as well as to analyze problems and make independent judgments to initiate corrective action and resolution.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration capabilities.
• Strong task and detail orientation, awareness of urgency in communication, while displaying diplomacy in day-to-day interactions.
• Excellent communication skills, oral and written. Must also develop and deliver concise presentations to Senior Management level.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

• Sitting at workstation approximately 80 percent or work time.
• Standing and walking approximately 20 percent or work time.
• Located in Greer SC HQ office, potential for partial remote work
• Typical office environment.
• Must be able to travel 10 percent of work time.
• Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice.
• Ability to travel and work in manufacturing atmospheres in various climate regions.
