Job DescriptionJob Description

The Logistics Supervisor is a pivotal role within a logistics company. They are responsible for managing and overseeing all logistics activities. This position ensures the efficient, timely, and cost-effective delivery of goods while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.

Essential functions:

  • Oversee daily logistics operations, including fleet management, route planning, and scheduling to ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Supervise and support a team of drivers and logistics staff, fostering a positive work environment and ensuring adherence to company policies and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and manage vehicle maintenance schedules to ensure fleet reliability and compliance with safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, including DOT regulations and company safety policies.
  • Analyze transportation performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance service quality and reduce costs.
  • Implement and oversee safety programs, providing training and guidance to ensure a safe working environment for all logistic personnel.
  • Address and resolve any logistic-related issues or complaints from customers.

 

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of logistic experience
  • Expert with computers
  • At least 3 years of prior experience with logistic software
  • Ability to tolerate high-stress situations
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in data entry
  • Must be able to follow oral and written instructions (in English).
  • Listening skills and verbal communication.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in logistic management.
