Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, upkeep, and repair of machinery, equipment, physical structures, and electrical systems within the plant. Expertise in hydraulics, fabrication, millwright work, and electrical systems is highly desirable.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Examines and tests machinery and equipment to ensure they are functioning correctly.
  • Identifies malfunctions by listening for unusual noises and collaborates with supervisors or other maintenance staff to diagnose issues and perform repairs.
  • Disassembles malfunctioning machines and installs new or repaired components.
  • Cleans and lubricates machine parts such as shafts, bearings, and gears.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in interpreting schematics and symbols.
  • Reads and comprehends blueprints.
  • Handles heavy mechanical installations and repairs.
  • Prioritizes and completes work orders to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Keeps accurate records of equipment maintenance.
  • Promptly communicates any operational, safety, or quality concerns to Supervisors and other maintenance team members.
  • Follows standard operating procedures and meets established work goals.
  • Maintains professional communication with all business personnel.
  • Ensures a clean and organized workspace in alignment with 6S methodology.
  • Adheres to all company and safety policies, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned.
