We are currently seeking a proactive Litigation Legal Assistant to support multiple attorneys in our Dallas Office.
The ideal candidate is highly organized and pays close attention to detail; has the ability to juggle deadlines in a fast-paced environment; can work with or without supervision; is able to manage multiple projects and prioritize; possesses strong writing and communication skills; understands proofreading is crucial.
Qualifications
· Experienced Litigation Assistant (5+ years)
· Experience with preparing records, assembling exhibits, pleadings, summarizing transcripts, discovery, and trial preparation.
· Experience drafting and responding to standard discovery demands (interrogatories, requests to produce documents, etc.)
· Strong computer skills: proficient in MS Office Suite and document management systems.
· Professional, clear and effective communication both written and verbal is a must.
· Organized and detail oriented
· Able to multitask and successfully manage a variety of demands
· Proficient in Texas e-filing (Collin, Dallas, and Tarrant Counties)
· Able to calculate, calendar, and communicate deadlines
Responsibilities
· Communicate with current and prospective clients, screening calls setting up initial phone interviews.
· Assist with entering time, billing edits, sending out bills, and working with accounting to resolve billing issues.
· Draft correspondence, pleadings, summons, affidavits, interrogatories and other discovery requests, motions, briefs; file with court and execute service. Preparation and service of subpoenas.
· Organize case files; maintain pleadings and discovery indexes; establish chronology of facts; coordinate document productions; organize and handle exhibits and/or privilege logs
· Contact external sources to retrieve, review and analyze information
· Search and retrieve information from court-related databases as well as other online sources for case information
· Calendar management for multiple attorneys; hearings, deadlines and other relevant dates
