Summary
Maintain high level of safety and reliability of manufacturing and facility equipment through application of preventative and predictive methods of maintenance, troubleshooting, high quality repairs and installations. Perform highly diversified duties to support the achievement of the plant’s business goals and objectives.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Daily monitoring of all the processes from start to finish (raw material handling, soaking, cooking and extracting, curding, pasteurizing)
  • Troubleshoot, repair mechanical problems for food processing and industrial machinery in a timely manner to maintain high-speed production equipment
  • Track downtime and loss events and make adjustments to formulas and changes as needed
  • Manage the accuracy of daily production documents
  • Practice safe work habits and wear proper PPE
  • Follow proper lockout tag-out procedures as required
  • Complete work orders and assignments on time without errors as directed by supervisor or manager
  • Perform package changeovers on equipment as required
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections, adjustments, and repairs as indicated on the CMMS program
  • Participate in meetings and reports maintenance department objectives and opportunities
  • Install / rebuild equipment
  • Independently perform all assignments after being given general instructions as to the results expected
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Required
  • Electrical and mechanical certification is a plus
  • Must have hands-on knowledge of boiler, mechanical fluid power, pneumatic systems. Familiar with machine shop environment
  • Must be able to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems, repair and maintain all equipment in accordance with the plant’s policies and procedures
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Must have a good understanding of preventive predictive maintenance operations
  • Strong verbal skills
  • Ability and willingness to work longer shifts and that may include weekends and holidays
  • Able to walk, stand for extended periods of time, sit and talk or hear regularly
  • Able to use both hands and fingers to feel or handle, sit for extended periods of time, stand frequently, bend, squat, reach and turn
  • Able to adapt to temperature changes of hot and cold conditions
  • Ability to handle heights and confined spaces
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds - may require a push or pull with a dolly or pallet jack up to 500 lbs
