Position Overview:

As a Maintenance Technician at UW Provision, you'll play a critical role in maintaining and repairing our buildings and equipment, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs across various areas: electrical, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, and construction.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to optimize resource use effectively.
  • Organize and maintain inventory for maintenance department supplies and equipment.
  • Engage in mechanical tasks, including dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
  • Utilize a variety of power and hand tools for maintenance tasks.
  • Liaise with different departments to maintain productivity flow.
  • Order parts and collaborate with contractors and businesses for maintenance needs.
  • Actively monitor the facility's condition (sights, sounds, smells) for any signs of problems.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of progressive maintenance experience.
  • Refrigeration maintenance experience and a mechanical aptitude are musts.
  • Proven experience in a maintenance manager or similar managerial role is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of plumbing, refrigeration, electrical systems, including residential electrical (use of multimeter, outlet replacement, etc.).
  • Basic carpentry, plumbing, and light HVAC maintenance skills.
  • Metal working and welding skills are advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive approach to safety in equipment maintenance and plant operations.
  • Further education or training in maintenance fields is preferred.
