Job DescriptionJob Description

This position is responsible for performing housing quality standard inspections on properties in the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program within the City of Allentown and the surrounding area.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  1. Perform Housing Quality Standard (HQS) inspection on Section 8 properties applying the stricter of HQS or the Local Building Code.
  2. Create and maintain inspection schedule.
  3. Enter and maintain information in housing management software on AHA computer network.
  4. Travel to inspection locations.
  5. Communicate inspection results to Landlord(s), Tenant(s) and AHA staff through written or verbal communication as required.
  6. Complete inspection result reports.
  7. Perform Rent Reasonableness on assigned properties or dwelling units.

DECISION MAKING:

Determines result (pass/fail) of unit inspection.

Makes recommendations to supervisor for procedures or changes to improve processes and operations.
