Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer (Microsoft 365 Suite Specialist)
Position Type: Contract for 6+ months.
Location: Garland, TX 75040 (Can be 100% remote)
 

Primary Skills: Microsoft 365 Suite Windows Defender for Server
 

This person will also need to pass a CJIS background check as well, so no offenses including DWI in the past 7 years.


 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expertise in Microsoft 365 Suite: Demonstrate deep knowledge and experience in the Microsoft 365 Suite, with the ability to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME). This includes a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the suite, particularly in terms of security and server management.
  • Microsoft Defender for Servers Configuration and Implementation: Focus on the configuration and implementation of Microsoft Defender for Servers. The candidate should possess advanced skills in setting up, customizing, and optimizing Windows Defender for server environments.
  • Security Enhancement and Tool Deployment: Work towards enhancing the security aspect of our Microsoft 365 environment. This involves fine-tuning existing setups and deploying additional security tools within the Microsoft 365 stack.
  • Scripting and Automation: Utilize PowerShell scripting to automate tasks, streamline processes, and implement custom solutions within the Microsoft 365 environment. The candidate should have strong proficiency in PowerShell, with the ability to write, debug, and optimize scripts.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively seek opportunities to improve our Microsoft 365 environment. Provide insights and recommendations for optimizing our setup, ensuring both efficiency and security.

 

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in systems engineering, with a specific focus on Microsoft 365 Suite.
  • Proven track record as a SME in the Microsoft 365 Suite, particularly in setting up, deploying from scratch, configuring, and managing Windows Defender for servers.
  • Strong experience in deploying and managing security tools within the Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Proficient in PowerShell scripting, with experience in automating tasks and implementing custom solutions in a Microsoft 365 context.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on complex projects.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical team members.
