Summary
The ideal candidate is an analytics expert with direct experience working with business units across vertical markets to design, develop and activate innovative ways of capturing, analyzing and reporting on data-driven insights to improve current business operations. A strong background in statistical analysis, data mining, data warehousing and machine learning will be featured skills.
Assist ODS to understand production patterns and improve output of our products and services. This role is responsible for overseeing the collection, storage and interpretation of data for the production business. Duties include sifting through data points to create organized categories, comparing data points to current company processes. The data scientist uses this data, writing reports outlining business predictions to predict forecasts of demand and delivery and promote overall efficiency.
ODS data usage will involve the tracking and analysis of production metrics, such as output, quality, and efficiency. It will also involve the monitoring and analysis of equipment performance, maintenance schedules, and other operational processes and data sources. Using data analytics and machine learning techniques, this role will identify patterns and trends and make predictions about future outcomes with an emphasis on using modern computing platforms and technologies to deploy AI and other technical disciplines. The role promotes JIT manufacturing, where customer orders are handled in a lean manner based on tight timelines and tighter supply chains.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain predictive models that optimize production processes and reduce waste, based on machine learning techniques.
• Analyze complex data sets to identify trends and patterns and provide insights that enable business stakeholders to make informed decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas of improvement in the production process and develop data-driven solutions.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines that integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
• Conduct testing and experimentation to continuously improve performance metrics across the production process
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and developments in data science and identify new opportunities for data-driven insights within the organization.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field
• Masters in Informatics, Data Science, or related field a plus
• 3+ years’ experience in data science or a related field
• 3+ years’ experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, SAS, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI
• Experience with machine learning techniques, such as regression, classification, clustering, and neural networks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Ability to communicate complex data in a simple, actionable way.
• Experience with data governance, data quality, and data management best practices.
• Excellent attention to detail
• Knowledge of the healthcare and financial services industries is a plus.
