Job Title: Residential Aide

Home Office: Vienna, IL or Karnak, IL


Area of Focus: Behavioral Health

Program(s): Supervised Residential: The Supervised Residential Program provides adults living with substantial levels of mental illness or disability with 24/7 services through recovery-oriented community residential facilities.

Immediate Supervisor: Program Manager

Residential Aide Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Qualifies as a Rehabilitative Services Associate (RSA); Mental Health Professional (MHP) is preferred; experience working with individuals with mental illness and/or disabilities is preferred.

Residential Aide Special Requirements: Maintain and provide proof of a valid driver's license; maintain and provide proof of personal vehicle liability insurance; at least 21 years of age; must complete required registry clearances and criminal fingerprint background checks; maintains CPR & First Aid training requirements.

Residential Aide Skills & Knowledge: Skilled in the delivery of rehabilitative services to adults; knowledge of local health and human services resources; basic crisis intervention and conflict resolution techniques; excellent written and oral communication skills; basic computer skills.

Shifts:

  • Karnak, IL: Monday - Thursday 10:00 pm - 8:00 am
  • Rotating: Anna, IL; Vienna; IL; and Karnak, IL. Full-time 40 hours/week

Residential Aide Job duties include, but not limited to

    • Monitors and evaluates consumer’s behavior, while intervening and establishes diagnosis if needed. Assists in the development of the individual treatment plan through collaborative efforts with consumers and the QMHP by defining goals, specific outcomes and time frames for treatment.
    • Provides crisis intervention to stabilize consumer's condition by utilizing short term crisis intervention techniques and/or referral to other support services.
    • Facilitates comprehensive consumer care by providing case management services and teach necessary life skills to residents of the facility.
    • Facilitates recreation/socialization and cultural activities for consumers which provide enjoyable outings that prepare and encourage them to engage in activities independent of the agency.
    • Provides and arranges transportation services to consumers which they translate to their natural environment.
    • Completes required monthly direct service hours to consumers as defined on Direct Service Requirement sheet.
    • Follows agency policy and procedure for all reports of abuse and neglect or suspected abuse and neglect.
    • Maintains an active network of social service and medical providers, both internally and externally, to help further assist the client to meet basic daily needs.
