We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Tax Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of tax laws and regulations, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record in tax accounting. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, optimizing tax strategies, and supporting the overall financial goals of the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tax Compliance:
  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax laws.
  • Work closely with our external CPA to handle tax filings and payments, managing deadlines and ensuring timely submissions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations and ensure the company is compliant.
  • Tax Planning and Strategy:
  • Develop and implement effective tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
  • Conduct research on tax issues and provide guidance on tax implications for business decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize tax planning opportunities.
  • Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare tax provisions and ensure accurate reporting in financial statements.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax disclosures.
  • Reconcile tax accounts and maintain detailed records of all tax-related transactions.
  • Audit Support:
  • Manage and coordinate tax audits, providing documentation and responses to tax authorities.
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors as needed.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in tax reporting and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain tax policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax accounting, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
