About Us

Sen Saigon is a new family-owned and operated fast-casual, counter-service restaurant in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. We are the only completely vegan Vietnamese restaurant in NYC.

  • We emphasize freshness and quality. We seek out the best and freshest ingredients and spare no effort in crafting house-made components for our dishes.
  • We strive to maintain accessible prices in order to appeal to a large audience and give everyone a meal that they feel was well worth their hard-earned money..
  • Our menu and our restaurant were designed to taste, look, and feel like a piece of Vietnam was transported to New York City -- with a few of our own cozy interpretations.
  • We welcome customers into our restaurant as if they were guests in our home. We want to ensure they are taken care of in every aspect of their experience with us.

Qualifications

  • Kitchen experience is required
  • Vietnamese/vegan cooking experience is not necessary.
  • Preference for Food Protection Certificate holders.
  • Familiarity with health and safety kitchen regulations.
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
  • Strong multitasking and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

*Must be legally authorized to work in the US.

Your Responsibilities

  • Prep Cook:

    • Wash, peel, and chop vegetables and fruits.
    • Prepare and portion meats, seafood, and poultry.
    • Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes.
    • Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible.
    • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash.

  • Line Cook:

    • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
    • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
    • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion.
    • Answer, report, and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions.
    • Clean up station and take care of leftover food.
    • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
