As a Painter / Bodywork Technician, you will be responsible for painting parts and components ranging from small assemblies all the way through full chassis prep/painting. You will be involved in all stages of the body work / pre-paint process, including stripping, masking, sanding, filler, priming, painting, touch ups, etc. On occasion you will be asked to assist in the Composites Department with the prep/finishing of bucks and molds.

Our ideal candidate has significant paint and bodywork experience - someone capable of producing high-quality work, done at times where a quick turn-around is required to meet the fast-paced racing schedules we see here at Vermont SportsCar.  We work with a combination of steel and composite bodywork, so experience with both is expected. Previous motorsports experience is preferred, but not essential for the right candidate.

Other Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Operate necessary equipment and tools with skill and precision 
  • Meet daily production and quality demands
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with others to ensure company goals and timelines are met
  • Perform preventative maintenance on tools and machines as necessary
  • Comply with health, safety (including OSHA), and environmental procedures, and ensure the cleanliness of the area 
  • Other duties as needed to support VSC's various racing programs

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant paint and bodywork experience
  • Proven ability to multi-task and work comfortably in a fast-paced, often-changing environment including excellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility
  • Proven ability to be a team player with high integrity is a must

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this position, individuals may frequently be required to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; regularly required to talk and hear. 
  • The individual must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. 
  • Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus as required.
