Global Packaging Container Company located in Branchburg NJ is searching for Supply Chain Buyer

With emphasis on quality, flexibility and innovation we set the benchmark in our markets – starting with the utilization of a sophisticated quality management system in our production processes.

We are currently looking for a Buyer for our corporate office in North Branch, NJ.

BUYER

As a Buyer, you will work across two essentials commodities for this Organization, steel and plastics. You will work closely with the Procurement team and have the ability to work with and learn from multiple senior stakeholders in the organization including the procurement managers, Directors and C-Suite Leaders.

You will:

  • Source and procure raw materials, components and finished goods for our production needs
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality products at competitive prices
  • Work with the Procurement team to review and analyze purchase requisitions, negotiate prices and lead times, and place purchase orders for our North American plastic and steel manufacturing facilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain sourcing strategies to optimize costs and improve supply chain efficiency
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies with suppliers and escalate to management when necessary
  • Assess and manage the inventory of the multiple sites to ensure correct amounts of your commodities are ordered, delivered, and stores
  • Continuously evaluate supplier performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends, new products, and industry best practices related to procurement and supply chain management
  • Provide subject matter expertise to the senior leadership team

You should have:

  • Bachelor Degree in a relevant discipline (i.e., Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Business)
  • Experience working in a purchasing role in a related environment (i.e., manufacturing or engineering)
  • Proven track record of successful negotiation, sourcing, and procurement
  • Skilled in management of logistics and inventory of commodities
  • Experience working across multiple sites
  • Proficiency with MS Office (required) and SAP (highly preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
