Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and excited Electrical Technician (Control Panel Builder II) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the accurate fabrication of high-quality custom control panels using panel drawings, schematics, and appropriate tools to effectively complete product assembly. You will also be responsible for the physical assembly, wiring and testing of control panels for industrial equipment. The Technician will fabricate panels to print, including layout and physical mounting of components to the back panel, wiring of all components, installation of control panels onto equipment, and point-to-point testing to ensure proper wiring.

Our facility is conveniently located in Oakland, FL, just 23 minutes away from Orlando.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and install UL508A control panels.
  • Execute plans of electrical wiring for well-functioning packaging equipment.
  • Install electrical apparatus, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Install safety and distribution components (e.g. pneumatic solenoid valves, switches, photo eyes, control panels etc.)
  • Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components (24 VDC to 480 VAC 3 Phase).
  • Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits etc.
  • Forming electrical circuits, by connecting electrical wires to components and fixtures and testing completed circuits
  • Installing switches, circuit breaker panels, relays, and other electrical control and distribution equipment.
  • Installing hangers and brackets to support electrical products.
  • Performing maintenance procedures to keep wiring, lighting, and control systems in good working order.
  • Inspecting circuit breakers, transformers, and other electrical components for faults.
  • Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.
  • Utilize and abide by ISO requirements and safety procedures.
  • Perform other such duties as may be required.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ experience as an electrical technician/wireman/electrician or related field.
  • Experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems.
  • Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and read electrical drawings and blueprints.
  • Experience with PLC, VFD, HMI, Relay, Safety Relays, and others.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Flexibility to travel domestically and/or internationally as needed (less than 10%).
  • Knowledge of hand measuring instruments.
  • The ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and work long hours if necessary.
  • Possess a high degree of safety awareness when performing all tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Well organized, analytical, and detail oriented with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to adapt and perform in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Work well with others and work as a team.
  • Maintain working area clean and organized.
  • Display and maintain enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Diploma in relevant vocational training or successfully completed apprenticeship as an electrician.
  • 2+ year of experience working on electrical control panels.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
